New MP3 for an old song

This is an old song me and my brother wrote during a terrible night, in a terrible neighborhood, in Philly.

Here is the MP3, right click and download. Warning. It clocks in at just under five megs.

Here go the lyrics to Kensinton.

Still learning my the ins and outs of my home recorder. It’s a little strange being a one man band. I even have a drum track. Need to work on my mixing skills.

Gotten some good feedback: Drums a little too busy and I need to do some mixing to get a fuller guitar sound. Probably some panning and level adjusting.

  1. EQ and compression on the guitar track wouldn’t hurt either. And since I’m a bassist, I’ll point out that a bass track will go a long way toward filling out the space between the drums and the guitar, even if it’s just a four-beat on the root note. I’d be happy to play on the track if you want — let me know.

FYI, phoenixtrap.com got flooded out yesterday (water main break at the hosting company), so my weblog and such is down. Note the new, perhaps temporary, e-mail address.

  2. Tough break at the hosting company.

Dude I’d be honored for ya to play bass on it! It would be fun! I tried and tried, but all of my bass lines were too…. cluttered. So I just stopped trying.

  3. Well, I’m on vacation next week, so it’ll have to be after the 22nd. (Busy this weekend, too — kid’s birthday party, gig in Ardmore, and Rush concert in Camden. 🙂

Give me a call or send e-mail on when you want to do this.

  4. You got it man 🙂 This will be fun. I havn’t jammed with anyone playing bass… in … well since I auditioned for you guys(and gal) 🙂
