Second Chance

The lyrics to this are real old, written during 1993. I was dealing with what I felt was a close friend’s betrayal and the words just spilled out.

For folks that know me, who can’t imagine me angry – well this is my secret – when my heart has anger, music provides the release.

When Steve and Dante got a hold of the lyrics and my early guitar riffs, the music just came together all at once.

This was our very first time in a semi-professional recording studio. We were wired – you can hear how tight this is. We didn’t let it breath and we were rushing – but I think you can hear the potential.

You’ve been beaten down
Gotta leave this town
Burnt too many bridges you can’t cross again

All the lost dreams

Hear the silent screams
Every street bears another story of pain

Memories you can’t escape
Past to present it seems your fate
Try to face the shadows
Try to lead this dance

Don’t let it be the last
Second Chance

Second Chance

You’ve closed your mind
To what you’ve not found
Everyone’s out to get you try to bring you down

I gave you my heart
I gave you my trust
You stabbed me in the back from the fucking start

Memories you can’t escape
Past to present it seems your fate
Try to face the shadows
Try to lead this dance

Don’t let it be the last
Second Chance
Second Chance

(Break)

You’ve been beaten down
Gotta leave this town
Burnt too many bridges you can’t cross again

I gave you my heart
I gave you my trust
You stabbed me in the back from the fucking start

Memories you can’t escape

Past to present it seems your fate
Try to face the shadows
Try to lead this dance

Don’t let it be the last
Second Chance
