Admist the news of the past two weeks, you might have missed this: a presidential commission said our Iraq intelligence was ‘dead wrong’ and that we still know “disturbingly little” about the weapons programs and intentions of many of our “most dangerous adversaries.”
Today it looks like the British are following suit.
Notice the extreme lack of folks losing their jobs over this. Sad. No one takes responsibility and everyone just passes the buck.
You are more right than you should be. But then I also expect people who take such high visibility/significant positions to stand up for their decisions which is not the same expectation those people have. I am not in the omood I should be though, especially having just come home from the U2 concert, which you nmight have noticed from the post I made this afternoon.
This is one of the things that has most annoyed me in the past couple of years. The President’s party, the party of “personal responsibility”, apparently only adheres to such high standards when enforcing those standards for other folks… This burns me especially because I want to espouse wonderful ideas like personal responsibility, except that its most vociferous champions seem like the most prodigious hypocrites in the political realm.
Sorry, I was trying for merely verbose, but I seem to have achieved a bit more. But trust me, it was still sincere…
Yep, and yep. I agree with yas.
And Howard, thanks for the kind words at your site.
