This is precisely the reason why I will not run a blog, and many times try to stay as anonymous as possible when posting comments (other than spam). There is a price for freedom of speech. Sometimes that price can be very steep. It depends on how much of that right you want to excercise and what sacrifices you are willing to make. While I do not agree this is how it should be, it is unfortunately the way it is.

Sounds like they were looking for an excuse to ditch him. This is one of the reason I will be working for myself instead of somebody else.
I don’t want to be in a position where some nimrod takes aim at me over nothing. I’ve been fired in the same manner years ago (not for blogging though).
I was escorted out of the bldg the same way, and had someone following me around. And at one point I had to take a piss, so I asked the guy: “Are you going to follow me into the bathroom too?”
Finally after I finished in the bathroom, I walked over to the elevator I said to the IT Admin that canned me: “I’ve got two words for you: SUCK IT!”

With that I left.
Now, I am an IT Admin, and my end users (majority of them) love my work and skills.
My opinion: That company just lost a great IT professional. Good luck guy……
