My little brother said he was proud of me

It was shortly after the election, and he wanted to let me know that he thought how I got involved was inspiring. I didn’t think it amounted to all that much. But I was happy to have contributed in someway.

More importantly, I’ve told him this before, I told him again that night, and I’ll say it again now – he’s the inspiring one.

There are two responses to adversity: You can point a finger at everyone else, screaming from a soapbox in your bedroom – or you choose to fight.

Put your name down. Make a donation. Volunteer someplace.

  1. PEOPLE: Save your money, don’t give one more fucking penny to John “I QUIT” Kerry.

Kerry is not fighting for you. Stop wasting your resources now! The man doesn’t care about you or me.

Don’t believe the lie for one more second.

  2. CNN: Kerry gives remaining money to Democratic Party:
    http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/18/democrats.kerry.ap/

Kerry isn’t asking for money. He’s asking for signers of a petition in support of child health care. There are far too many kids from working poor families who have no means of treating common problems such as the flu. I think Kerry is showing some great itiniative and I hope other Senators follow his lead.

P.S. If you feel so strongly about your views, I suggest getting your own blog. As I’ve said many times before, I am available to help.

  3. So you’re saying that the bill is free?

No my friend, somebody has to pay up to make it happen. You’re giving him a blank check by agreeing to a bill you haven’t even seen yet.

The same shit happened when they signed thru the Patriot Act.

Much like the geniuses that let this one slip by:

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/21/tax.provision/index.html

A 1000 page bill with a few lines that do something not intended nor expected by the blind sheep that follow along without using their common sense or their minds.

Do any of these people in DC ever take the time to read anymore?

Question everything Karl. Don’t take anything for granted.

The election was just stolen in front of your eyes, and the first thing Mr. John “I Quit” Kerry does is worry about the poor sick kids. Please excuse me while I go throw up now.

  4. “So you’re saying that the bill is free?”

No. Of course I didn’t say that.

“No my friend, somebody has to pay up to make it happen. You’re giving him a blank check by agreeing to a bill you haven’t even seen yet.”

It’s called taxes. I want them to be spent in areas where the greatest good can come from them. Don’t you?

“Question everything Karl. Don’t take anything for granted.”

Why do you insist on preaching to the choir? What purpose does it serve?

As for that sneaky tax bill, you’ll find more here:

Standing *against* things is so easy. I can rant all day and night here if I wanted. It’s what you stand *for* that can make a positive difference.

  5. We all pay taxes. To me it’s a question of how Mr. I Quit, sells his “Plan.” He sends out an email and doesn’t inform the media; which we all know will catch wind of the story eventually. Speaks in vague terms and says “Shhhhh…. don’t tell anyone but….”

Helping 8 million children is a nobel idea, but when you approach the people with this tactic it begs any inteligent individual to question the motives.

Karl, I know you worked hard to help him get elected, we all did. I’m not trying to preach to a choir or start a war. I’m just stating the facts. He quit on us, you didn’t quit on him.

Now two weeks later, after his skiing trip is over. He wants to get back to work.

Where was he when this sleezy tax bill got signed through? Skiing, that’s where.

While everybody who worked their asses off for him was upset and looked to him for leadership he went MIA.

A long time ago you shared an article with me that was a 12 part series in the inquirer about how the system is and how it was being abused. Do you remember?

That is the Karl I know, and I don’t believe you’ve changed too much since then. (Your hairs shorter though ;p )

Except you’ve lost some of that fire. When I say question everything, it’s not about standing against anyone more so than it is about being true to yourself and using the God given talents that he gave us. They want us divided against one another, that way nobody will see what is really going on.

I’m not a sheep, and I have a brain. I have good intuition, and I’ll call a spade a spade when I see it. Sorry if this offends you.

    Peace….

  6. “I’m not a sheep, and I have a brain. I have good intuition, and I’ll call a spade a spade when I see it. Sorry if this offends you.”

Neither am I. No apologies needed on that score either way.

    But this *is* offensive:

“you’ve lost some of that fire.”

I ask you – what do *you* stand *for*? I’ve declared where I stand. And I’m fighting for my beliefs. If you think posting in various comment threads on low trafficed blogs shows you “have fire” – you’re mistaken.

I repeat: Standing *against* things is easy. I can rant all day and night here if I wanted. It’s what you stand *for* that can make a positive difference.

  7. Here is what I stand for: (not in any particular order)

    1) Honest and fair laws that don’t put people in jail for stupid shit. ie, RIAA.

    2) Honest and Ethical Politians that aren’t lining their pockets with Corporate America’s money to see things “Their Way,” thus fucking the rest of us.

    3) Freedom of Information.

    4) Protecting the Constitution.

    5) Protecting our planet from all the pollution that ignorant bastards keep dumping into our skies and water.

    6) Fair tax plans so that people pay taxes accordingly instead of the rich 2% getting their way by not paying their fair share.

    7) True health coverage that goes back to the days where doctors decided what was best for you, not some HMO lawyers.

    And that’s just for starters.

My fire and passion in blogging is only part of life. I believe that information shared is knowledge gained. I’ll say it again, paradox1x.org is not the only blog I post on. I also post on blogs that have 100’s of comments in their threads.

  8. NO REPLY

    Hmmm……

I’d have expected you to come back and tag on to that one but you didn’t.

The future knocked Karl, but you didn’t answer the door remember?

You rode Karl, you wasted time, you went over the edge, but you still didn’t listen to the laughter in the silence, Karl.

Remember what brought you to this point Bro. It doesn’t matter if I blog onto your site or 100 others, it really doesn’t, but I just hate to see you get deluded by a man that doesn’t care for you or I.

Remember the time when we could tell who was fake and who wasn’t?

  9. There was no reply since I was at work.

You don’t ‘blog onto my site’. What you do is *not* blogging. It’s visiting someone’s blog and leaving a comment. A blog has your posts on the front page. With you authoring them and no one editting them.

That’s a good start on your position statement. However, the points are far too general. So general that no one could ever disagree with them. For example, you’re for ‘Protecting the Constitution.’ Does that mean I have the right to own an AK-47 and an anti-tank weapon or not? Different people interpet the Constituion different ways.

As for telling who was fake and who wan’t – everyone is a poseur to some degree. It’s always a choice of the lessor evil. But ya know what? I’m not going to let that thought stop me from doing something. If these past four years have taught me anything – the difference between the lessor of two evils can be a huge difference indeed. I offer my support not blindly, since I will criticize when I see the need to do so. But the fact that I can find fault is no reason to turn my back in cynicism. That way of thinking is what let dubya get into power in the first place.

My support of John Kerry is not the only thing that defines me. It’s not the only thing I talk about on this site. It’s the only thing you are choosing to focus on right now however.

    Read this:

    And likewise peace.

  10. Ok, Karl I don’t blog on your site; thanks for the explanation of new terms. Hey I have it, I’m a CommBlogger, yes that works for me.

    CB for short.

And by your defs, posting other people’s articles on your site then passing on a few lines of your own text isn’t exactly original creation either.

And terms vary state by state.

If I wanted to be specific in my terms of what I stand for I would have written a 35 page letter here. I thought for the sake of time/space I’d limit my points.

While you’re off in search of issues other than our current political/domestic skyline, you’re missing my point.

IMHO, you do offer Mr. I Quit a blank check.

And while you’re doing that you fail to see things like this:

(Mysterious ‘George W. Bush: Our leader? Clear Channel political public service billboard graces Orlando freeway)

Karl Wrote: “It’s the only thing you are choosing to focus on right now however.”

Well that might be because it’s the most important thing in all our lives right now. Keep your head in the sand, that way you won’t see anything.
