frontline: is wal-mart good for america?

Tomorrow night frontline investigates wal-mart’s far reaching effects at home and across the world. Yeah, the show the other night didn’t connect the dots the way I had wished, but I’m sure it was an eye opener for many. This is bound to be the same.

A related blog I’d like you to see is Northeast Pennsylvania Whirl-Mart. It’s a great example of how a focused weblog can be a useful activism tool. Too many of us blog just to hear our own voices in the echo chamber.

  1. “Connecting the dots” isn’t within Frontline’s purview, I think, because that would involve a sort of supposition, and Frontline is a news report show. I think they’re very careful not to engage in supposition, as to preserve their integrity.

If you want supposition (connecting the dots), watch Bill Moyers or something. I think he connects a lot of dots, and takes a lot of heat for it too. (Don’t know if he’s covered wal-mart or advertising -yet- though. But I wouldn’t mind seeing it.)

    Thanks for the link, btw.
(And if ‘the other Michael’ ever shouted into an echo chamber, I’m sure he’d use musical accompaniment with bizarre toy instruments. hehe.)
