Since that awful day, I have continuously been moved to tears by the caring sympathy of those in other nations, who probably knew no one directly affected, but who cry for us out of the pure human love in their hearts. All that has been happening only goes to remind us all what a very small country and world we live in. Even though I live in AZ, a coworker of mine lost her brother-in-law (who was on Flight 11), another coworker lost three of his buddies who were NY firefighters, my mother-in-law in Boston went to 4 funerals for fellow parishioners, etc. Let the bond of love shatter the shackles of hate. God bless you all, and thank you for this website.

I visited the site this week and took my grandoughter with me so she will remember this despicable act. My prayers are for the country as a whole and hope we continue to reach out and be more civil to all kinds of people. What was meant to destroy us has only made us stronger, wiser and kinder.

I worked in #7 WTC and was one of the fortunate ones to escape that day. I first of all want to thank everyone in every state and country for the support, tears, memorials, and for the help and for sharing our pain. This was an attack on all of us. I also want to say that I will never again take anyone or anything for granted. It is human nature, I guess, to complain about the job, the crowds in the city, this, that and everything else. But, looking back, I realize how unimportant the little annoyances are. I loved working at the World Trade Center, and will miss everything about it. The bands that played at lunchtime, the shops, the farmers who came twice a week with their fresh fruit and vegetables, going to the World Financial Center and sitting on a bench watching the boats go by. But most of all, the people. I miss the people. I can't help thinking about how I must have seen these people who were killed, everyday. Maybe in the crowd listening to a band, or in a crowded store or restaurant, or maybe I sat next to them on a bench to eat lunch. And in the blink of an eye they are gone. And it makes me feel guilty for not having had a conversation with them. I want to say I'm sorry to those souls who were killed, if I ever passed you by and not acknowledged you, or maybe grumbled and complained if you bumped into me in the crowd, or got in front of me on the coffee line. If you can hear me, I am truly sorry. You may have been one of those desperate souls I saw jump from the towers to escape the fire and heat. You may have been caught up in the stairway when the building went down. Because of you, I will never take a human life for granted again, and will appreciate everyone for what they are. From the dishwasher to the hot dog vendor, to the vice-president of a major corporation, it doesn't matter. We were all running that day, trying to save our lives from the horror. Everyones life has a special purpose, and all are precious gifts from God. I pray that something this evil never happens again. Again, thank you to all of you, and God bless all of you, living and gone.

I think the terrorists really stink but it is also very stupid how, on the news, we tell our weaknesses and we say what could be done (and how) to hurt us. We tell them where our nuclear plants, etc. are. I think that is the stupidest thing we could ever do.

Thank you for the photographs. For me the day started slow, and it was the 22nd anniversary of my grandmother's death, whose birthday happens to fall on November 11th. I was thinking about her and about how much fun I had as a child celebrating her birthday. I stopped at the local store to pick up my CHicago Sun-Times, and Daily Defender newspapers and saw what was happening on the TV. At first I thought it was some trick camera stuff, and thought it was in bad taste. As I turned to comment out-loud my thoughts, I saw the look on the cashiers face and understood something serious was going on. My next reaction was to call my daughter who works as a gate agent for AA. As days and weeks went by I needed to relate to the suffering, lost, and pain of those lost, trapped, uncertain, and hopeful. Your pictures have given me a sense of understanding of the moments as things began to happen. These are pictures I shall put my own thoughts to, and archive them for my grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Thank you.

THANK YOU for these pictures. Please PUBLISH them in a BOOK for future generations. And for all of us. So much out-pouring of hearts. Courage, compassion, strength, love. Dedication, commitment. It's all written in those pictures. Please PUBLISH them in a book, so we can refresh our memories and teach our children. Help us always to remember those who died, and those who gave their hearts and souls trying to find those who were lost, and to remember those from other countries who gave us their flowers, prayers, and tears. Give us a book with those pictures. And thank you for all you've already given, and done.

So, why did it take an event such as this to bring us together? Consider this question, and don't allow yourselves to go back to the way things were. Otherwise, the unintended sacrifice of these people will have been in vain. 1WORLD

I remember the world mourning with us here in America, but after looking at the pictures I did not realize how this has effected everyone globally. I get chills in my body when I see the National Anthem being played in Britain with Brits holding American flags and waving them as if it were their own. It honestly is one of the most touching and heartfelt images I have ever seen in my life. This has so changed the way we live our everyday lives here in America. The monsters who did this say America needed a wake up call. Well, you woke us up. And now it's our turn. May God's wrath fall upon all who support the atrocities of Sept. 11. The terrorists no doubt saw those two massive towers as monoliths, giant monuments to America and capitalism. I saw them as what they were, two office buildings. Places where people went to work, to earn a living, and to make a nice life for themselves and their families. That is what was destroyed. This site is lovely, and I hope it remains for a long time.

The United States is made up of bits and pieces of every culture, every nation. When the terrorists struck us, they also struck a blow at every other culture and nation in the world, including their own. The pictures of people mourning all over the world not only gave me a lump in my throat, but also enforces the fact that we are not alone. None of these countries are alone. We have each other and we will do what is necessary to protect each other. Terrorism will not win because you can not beat all of us. There is just too much good in the world to let the evil, bloodthirsty, heathen terrorists win. No one who takes human life so lightly will be allowed to win. We will no longer look the other way while the terrorists starve, torture, and kill their own people. We will bring their people food, supplies, hope, information, education, and their pride and freedom back. We will show them how to grow corn and soybeans. We will help them to set up irrigation systems and plants to process their agricultural products. These people will own McDonald's franchises and department stores. They will be free to explore their own creative horizons and cultural arts. They will learn to read and will be free to translate their own holy books in their own way. The world will make this possible because we are all connected. We are one.

I am uplifted by this site. The outpouring of LOVE from the rest of the world to the victims and families -- and to all Americans -- of the tragedy of September 11 will not be forgotten. Thank you so much. We now -- all of us (i.e., the world) -- have a common enemy, and that enemy is hate and evil. And as we all know in our hearts, LOVE is stronger than hate. But it will not be without a price. As my mother taught me, "The only thing necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing." We cannot do nothing; we must act, for the good of all, all of us, on the good earth; so that hate, and terror, be vanquished from the face of the earth. It's up to us, all of us; and it will not come easy, but then again, freedom and liberty are never easy; they are gifts to be cherished and treasured if we are all to live, "under God, with liberty and justice for all." GOD BLESS AMERICA.
