Ah, so unlike Eclipse or NetBeans IDEA is non-free and so why would you not compare it more to, say, JBuilder?
That makes a bunch more sense too.
By the way, I installed XEmacs on my home box and will try using it to work with Perl, PHP and XSLT. Be afraid.
